Packaging and entrepreneurship came together at an early age for Dr. Andrew Hurley. As a young boy, he molded and sold pewter figurines, but inadequate shipping materials led to breakage. Frustrated, he set to researching better packaging alternatives … and he hasn’t ever stopped.
Dr. Hurley is an Associate Professor at Clemson
University in the Department of Food, Nutrition, and
Packaging Sciences. He leads the packaging
design emphasis area, where he researches how to
leverage packaging to solve even the toughest supply chain challenges.
Josh Galvarino currently works for Mercedes-Benz U.S. International as the Dangerous Goods Transportation Lead for North American parts distribution centers. With 6+ years of experience in dangerous goods packaging engineering and transportation compliance, he is an expert in the field.
Drew Cockman is currently Section Manager for BMW Manufacturing Logistics Planning/Packaging.
In his role, he is responsible for the concept development as well as procurement of packaging for new Vehicle Launches at BMW Spartanburg.
Chris is the President of Tree Brand Packaging, Inc., specializing in wood packaging applications. His expertise includes wood pallets, customized crates, and wood assemblies.
With 28 years of experience in wood packaging, Chris provides knowledge as the subject matter expert for wood materials.
DR. KEVIN LANDMARK
Dr. Landmark is a subject matter expert for anti-corrosion solutions. Dr. Landmark received his Ph.D. in Engineering and Applied Physics with a focus on nano-materials from the University of Michigan. He has developed an extensive knowledge of anti-corrosion packaging though his work at Northern Technologies International Corporation.
David Lester is the Senior Packaging Engineer at Magna Decostar where he has worked for 12 years. David is a graduate of the Naval Nuclear Engineering Program and the University of Akron Chemistry Program. David contributed as a panelist and speaker to Automotive Packaging Summit 2017 and 2018 and shares his experience with automotive packaging from a Tier 1 part supplier perspective.
Mike Costello shares his experience and expertise in the field of returnable metal packaging. With experience at Toyota Motor Manufacturing as well as his current role with PakFab Engineered Solutions, Mike has extensive knowledge with returnable automotive racking and wire cages.
Bianca Hurley is the Director of Automotive Services for Package InSight and Subject Matter Expert for automotive packaging at The Packaging School. She has worked in the automotive industry for 8+ years as the packaging lead for BMW Manufacturing and a liaison for BMW AG for all NAFTA sourced service parts. She holds a Masters Degree from Clemson University in packaging and received her packaging engineering degree from Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.
CAMILLE CHISM, CPPL
Camille Chism is currently the Owner and Principal of Indigo Packaging and Consulting, LLC. She is a course instructor for IOPP and the University of Akron. Camille has worked in packaging, material handling, and lean manufacturing at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. She has gained professional experiences in supply chain management working at Tier 1 supplier Johnson Controls where she developed standards for the returnable container management and engineered the packaging for automotive parts.
