Material Handling and Drying

In this session, PET material handling and drying will be covered. In the material handling portion, the different ways to receive and transfer material will be covered. Aggressive material handling can lead to problems such as fines and angel hair. The source of these and the equipment used to remove them is discussed in this session.

What You Will Learn
The drying process is an important phase of PET injection molding. This session will cover why PET should be dried and the methods used to remove moisture are reviewed; also, the effects of molding preforms with different levels of moisture in the resin are reviewed. The dryer parameters are reviewed and the effects of these parameters on the dying process are also covered.
