Diecutting 101 is a self-paced online course covering the fundamentals of diecutting for packaging and printing applications. The Packaging School team collaborated with experts at the International Association of Diecutting and Diemaking (IADD) to create this 2-hour, 19-lesson program.

What You Will Learn
This course will expose you to an overview of the fabrication process, the major types of diecutting (platen: hard anvil diecutting, platen: soft anvil diecutting, cylinder-rotary hard anvil diecutting, cylinder-rotary soft anvil diecutting, rotary pressure cutting, rotary crush cutting), and more.
Within these lessons we cover the setup, processes and tools, and types of cutting required for each diecutting technology. We also explore converting processes, like covering cutting, creasing, scoring, perforating-serrated cutting, embossing, and debossing. The course concludes with an interactive lesson on the “sins” of diecutting, covering the main variables leading to converting failures.
